SHORT COURSES

Including computer software, payroll and taxation
(courses other than nationally recognised training courses)

Please carefully evaluate your chosen course. If you have not already done so, we recommend you download and read the relevant course guide.

Applied Education requires payment within 10 working days of your booking or alternatively a purchase order number from your company may be supplied. We accept payment by direct deposit, Visa and MasterCard.

We require full prepayment or a purchase order before the course commences. Should we not receive payment before the course commences your place will not be confirmed.

For Online courses, full payment is required before access can be given to the course.

Note: For students located outside Australia, we do not make outbound international calls. However, students can submit a support ticket requesting a Teams meeting.

Refund Policy

Online Short Courses

You have 24 hours from the date of enrolment to apply for a refund, less a $50 administration fee, if you have not commenced your course and believe it is not appropriate for you.

Classroom Short Courses

If you have selected Classroom Learning and cannot attend your course, please notify our reception team via email to [email protected]

If you provide us more than 48 hours' notice prior to the course start, a full refund will be granted less a $50 administration fee or you are able to transfer to another course date.

If you provide us with less than 48 hours' notice prior to the course start, you can then opt to either, have us hold your account in credit for 12 months so you can attend at a later date or transfer your booking to another attendee. No refund is available.

Cancellation by Applied Education

In the event of insufficient numbers Applied Education reserves the right to cancel, in its sole discretion, any particular course. In the event a specific course is cancelled, participants will be contacted by us to arrange a transfer to an alternative course date. Alternatively, a full Refund of the course cost is available upon request. Applied Education assumes no responsibility for non-refundable airline-tickets, accommodation, deposits, or any other expenses incurred due to course cancellations.

Support

All our short courses are designed for self-paced learning and include comprehensive learning material in different formats. It is expected that students read and complete their work using the supplied learning materials.

For short online courses, we do not offer phone access to Trainers. We provide a Facebook study group and ticket support for course content-related questions, and technical support in relation to our student platform. Where a student uses the Applied Education ticket system as a form of extra tuition, our fair use policy of 2 tickets up to a maximum of 35 minutes per course will be applied. It's important to understand that our support scope is restricted to basic course assistance. For in-depth problem-solving, we advise seeking out professional support services.

Online short courses require students to have fundamental computer skills and familiarity. We do not provide support in relation to an individual’s computer setup and use.

Learning Material

Electronic (non-printable and non-editable) manuals are included as part of the course at no additional cost. All course content is accessed via our online student portal. Hard copies manuals can be purchased at additional cost when you enrol.

Our learning material for all short courses is packed full of high quality content, step-by-step instructions with visuals and plenty of practice exercises offering exceptional value to the participant. Content is regularly updated with latest rates, rulings and legislation. However, accounting software updates by Xero and MYOB may not reflected immediately in course material.

Hard copy manuals
Hard copy manuals are available for purchase for most course. All manuals are correct at time of purchase. However, on occasions the study material will be updated to a new version. Students will have access to the latest version in digital format on the student platform.

Computer Requirements

For all short courses, you will need a reliable internet connection as all data files and learning activities are available via our student platform.

For Microsoft courses, we do not provide the Microsoft software.

For MYOB Business (Pro and Lite) course, we do not provide the MYOB Business software.

For MYOB AccountRight courses, we provide a link and detailed instructions to download MYOB software to your computer. You will need a computer with a Microsoft Windows Operating system as MYOB is not compatible with tablets, Chromebooks and Apple's operating system.

If you only have access to a Mac computer, we recommend you first contact Apple to confirm if the following options are feasible on your computer:

  • purchase and install on your mac a windows emulator such as "parallels" to run windows on a Mac at your own cost; or
  • use the free inbuilt Mac Boot Camp Assistant on your Mac computer and purchase a Windows OS software licence.

Note: Applied Education and MYOB are unable to support issues relating to a Mac computer.

Duration

All online courses come with 12 months access to online material. Please note course extensions are not available.

As a Registered Training Organisation (RTO 52240, CRICOS 04165B), we comply with the government's strict quality and consistency standards. We conduct regular audits to ensure we keep this accreditation and deliver the level of training you deserve.

Please take the time to read through our Student Handbook applicable for our Nationally Accredited Training and Assessment in accordance with the requirements of the AQTF Standards. Please read the documents prior to enrolling in a Nationally Recognised Training course.
