Latest update for all apprentices and trainees

Based on the latest health advice, a mandatory vaccination policy for specified occupations and workforces within WA has been introduced by the State Government.

The policy applies to workers in high-risk industries, those interacting with people at an increased risk of being infected with COVID-19, or people who are vulnerable to the impacts of COVID-19, or other critical workers.

If you are a trainee working in a Group 1 or Group 2 industry, or your course or training program includes an industry work placement in Group 1 or Group 2 work sites, you will need to be vaccinated according to the Group 1 or Group 2 dates, or you may not be able to successfully complete the course.

For the list of industries and occupations in Group 1 and Group 2 and the deadline dates for 1st and 2nd dose vaccinations, please go to: https://ww2.health.wa.gov.au/Articles/A_E/Coronavirus/COVID19-vaccination-program/Mandatory-COVID19-vaccination.

If your course includes a live works training component on campus, in an occupation that is affected by the mandatory vaccine policy, you will need to be vaccinated.

Please continue to use the SafeWA app to check-in and practise good personal hygiene - wash your hands often with soap and water or use alcohol-based hand sanitiser.
