BHP Funded Online Courses

Receive career-oriented skills training, extensive student support, and pursue professional development at your own pace. As a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), Applied Education's qualifications and skill sets are nationally recognised and highly regarded by industry professionals.

Approved candidates are eligible for funding of up to $15,000 plus a grant of up to $1,000 to support the purchase of study tools. All our nationally recognised courses are approved for this Program, including:

About the Program

The Regional Education and Skills Program is a BHP funded initiative to support skills development in regional Australia.

The program provides funding for eligible students towards the tuition fees for university and VET courses.

In order to be eligible for this Program, the applicant must:

  • Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
  • Be living or working in the following regions.
    • WA - Pilbara or Goldfields
    • SA - Upper Spencer Gulf and Roxby Downs
    • NSW – Upper Hunter
    • QLD – Bowen Basin and Mackay

If the applicant only works in one of these regions, he/she must live within 150km of the region.

Applications for funding will be assess on:

  • Course type - our nationally recognised qualifications and skill sets s are all approved for this funding;
  • Industry area of study - our courses are the latest training packages in business and finance.
  • Purpose and contribution - demonstration that the course supports career progression and local community needs.

For nationally recognised training courses, including Certificates, Diplomas and Skill Sets, eligible students can receive up to $15,000 toward tuition fees and $1,000 to purchase study tools. 

Students must be prepared to enrol in their course of choice in 2023. After you submit an application for the Program, the Future of Work Team will determine if your application is successful, at which point you will get confirmation on the amount of funding you are eligible for.
